Buyer (Fairfax, VA)

Job Description:

  • Reviews proposals, conducts analysis, selects suppliers, and issues Purchase Orders

  • Leverages strategic partnerships and optimizes existing agreements to mitigate risk and contain cost

  • Applies price and cost analysis principles with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership; determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules

  • Supports corporate RFx, as needed, to assist in driving cost containment and affecting process streamlining initiatives

  • Prepares detailed and complex formal bid documents ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines

  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions with suppliers

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of related purchasing experience.

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel

  • Must be a US citizen for systems access

The following is considered a plus:

  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint Accounting software

  • Familiarity with SAP and/or Oracle applications

  • Experience working with the a US Government contractor and its requirements
